A proud 5th generation Texan, Michelle has always loved to organize. Spending more than half her childhood with her beloved grandma Hazel, she’s a grandma’s girl. She grew up with a strong foundation of love and kindness and a strong, healthy dose of frugality. As a little girl, she would rearrange her room and organize her things in bins, lining them up on her toy shelf. Fast-forward to her adult years, she organizes her home for her own family, and takes great pride in living in a clean, clutter-free environment.
Michelle comes to Get Organized! as a nostalgic gal. She is a lover of old dogs, old cars, and old homes. Having a lot of new things does not always make for a happy life, and the same can be said for organizing. Michelle excels in making the things you already have work for your current space.
A graduate of University of Texas at Dallas, Michelle studied PR/Marketing and worked in the corporate world as a business development director for a large engineering firm for many years. She later partnered with a longtime friend turned business partner and started a commercial cleaning company. Michelle is now ready to take her organizing hobby and turn it into a fulfilling career. “I want to help people de-clutter their homes and make their spaces functional, ultimately creating a lifestyle that brings a feeling of organized freedom.” She knows that a pretty space is only a small part of what organizing can do for a home and family. It can be a lifesaver for struggling marriages, adult children downsizing parents, and the stress that comes with packing or unpacking after a move.
Michelle can help her clients with household and personal paper systems, turning small closets into craft storage, maximizing closet space, and organizing camping and outdoor equipment in garages. She recognizes high-end and trendy products for fall and Christmas decorating. She is an excellent coordinator of moving jobs, not only packing and unpacking, but everything from de-cluttering, staging, scheduling pickup of unwanted items, and setting up a new home. Simply put, Michelle can handle large projects, is not afraid of getting dirty, and brings people together to accomplish organizing goals.
Married, a mother of two children, two cats, and a hamster, Michelle lives in a small mid-century home. Her lifestyle has its challenges and she has been creative and crafty with her own living spaces, turning closets into small, workable offices, making small bathrooms more useful, and turning little nooks into usable space.
In addition to organizing, Michelle has been involved in her children’s school, serving as PTA President and currently on the PTA board at both her kid’s schools. This desire to serve her community has allowed her to be involved in one of the largest modern home tours in North Texas. She has been a part of this committee for 7+ years and has been involved with the planning of the tour, client walk-throughs with the homeowners, staging of homes using high-end products, and helping get homes ready for a 2,500+ patron tour weekend. She was also named the 2020-2021 Bryan Adams High School Distinguished Alumni for her community service in the same neighborhood that raised her to be the person she is now.
